CERAMICS

by Rosie Brand

I focused on some of my favorite ceramic pieces below but you also have to visit her website and check out her amazing illustrations and projects.

Rosie on her art:

My work is a mix of pleasingly tactile forms; from uniquely hand crafted ceramic planters to cats, critters and mythical creatures. I like to think they are treasures from vibrant, other worldly stories, sparking imagination from the window sill or the mantelpiece. As an artist who works in both 3d sculpture and illustration, narratives are always present in the pieces, simmering under the surface of aesthetic images.

Interview + Illustration

Naomi Inna

Check out our interview with Israeli artist Naomi Inna below. You can also find more of her illustrations here.

How would you describe your work?

My illustrations are in black and white, my color textures. Every situation or object can become my illustration. Imagination plays a very important role for me and makes the illustration something personal. Sometimes while working I laugh because I live what I paint what happens illustration makes me laugh.

Which creative medium do you prefer?

I do not use the computer as a tool for drawing. I love ink, rapidograph pen, acrylic, paper cut.

Who are your favorite artists?

Avner Katz, Picasso, Georgia O'Keefee, Egon Schiele, Ofra Amit, Joanna Concejo and more.

What motivates you?

My experience while drawing and reviews of the people.

What’s next?

My current dream, to illustrate a book and return to travel in India but this time move between tribal communities and explore and learn the crafts and learn about the world of their textures.
